house work

Lots going on with the house… Many pictures below
Toby put in the stove pipe for our wood stove. It goes through the bedroom upstairs, so we had to frame it in with a little box to meet code. (Toby looks pretty intimidating with the drill gun in his hands, doesn’t he 
We framed out more windows. We only have one more to go. Yes, this one here will have two triangles together to make a larger triangle. Cool, eh??
We finished the stairs late last night. Yahoo! No more ladder! Suki loves it! She ran up the stairs and jumped out the window and ran around on the roof. Silly dog! Right now, the stairs just have scrap wood on them. Once the house is close to done, we will put on the real oak treads and risers. That way, we don’t damage them while we are working.
We had a cordwood party today and got lots done! Unfortunately, we ran out of our lime putty to mix into mortar. But, we had a blast and made good progress!
